For 25 years, Sheraton Design & Build—trading as part of the Sheraton Group—has been delivering high-quality construction projects from its base in Hartlepool to clients across the UK. Founded by Managing Director Simon John Smith, the business was built on a clear vision: an efficient, flexible and practical approach to contract management that creates happy customers, successful projects and lasting relationships.
Simon brings over 30 years of experience in the building industry, with extensive multi-site operational and policy-making expertise. His career spans major commercial construction projects through to fast-track, multi-discipline roll-out programmes delivered nationwide. That depth of experience continues to shape everything Sheraton Design & Build does today.
Originally established in 2001 as SJS Developments, the company quickly earned a reputation as a trusted nationwide construction and civil engineering contractor. Success was driven by strong partnerships with locally sourced, multi-skilled tradespeople, leading subcontractors and a robust, reliable supply chain. Supported by experienced contracts management and surveying teams, every project was approached with energy, commitment and pride.

From tender through to completion, we strive to deliver the highest possible standards: on time, within budget, and without compromise. This commitment to quality has been the foundation of our growth and our reputation over the past 25 years.
In November 2019, the business evolved further with the incorporation of Sheraton Bespoke Joinery, marking a new chapter and a refreshed brand identity. Today, Sheraton Design & Build continues to work across residential, education, retail, private and commercial sectors, building on decades of knowledge while embracing innovation and change.
